What to Expect During Crown Placement
Placing your all ceramic crown typically requires two separate appointments. During your first appointment, we need to prepare the damaged tooth. This process requires the removal of a portion of your tooth enamel so that we can reduce its size. Making the tooth smaller ensures that your crown will fit naturally in with the rest of your teeth. After the tooth has been prepared, we then take an impression.
Your impression is sent to our dental lab, where it is used to design and fabricate your custom ceramic crown. Once the finalized crown is ready, you have your second appointment. During this appointment, your crown is checked for fit and to ensure a natural bite. If everything looks and feels good, the crown is bonded into place on the tooth.
