My Gums Hurt Every time I Brush My Teeth, What does this mean?When you are brushing and notice that you feel pain while brushing it is time you see the dentist. Poor Brushing Technique


Many people do not know that brushing gently will ensure that you do not hurt the gums. Ensure that you use a soft-bristled toothbrush which is made of nylon and brush by moving in a circular motion. Brush the teeth back and forth and ensure that you take care of your gums for they are delicate.

Gum Disease


Gingivitis or periodontal gum disease might be the reason why the gums are hurting that is why you need to visit the dentist regularly to detect the gum disease. The gums swell and become sore when you have gum disease, they turn red and even become so sensitive. Visiting the dentist often will detect any gum disease and will prevent you from getting more oral problems.

Canker sores


Having canker sores will make you feel pain when brushing your teeth. The canker sores are also known as mouth ulcers and they are so unpleasant. The canker sores have a white center and they have a reddish edge. The gums become tender and when brushing the patient experiences, a lot of pain.

Foods consumed


The food that we eat is vital in oral health. The gums need to have strong minerals and nutrients so when we expose the gums and our teeth to acidic food the gums get irritated. The acidic foods for mouth sores and they make you feel so uncomfortable and are even painful.
